About Us
The Eureka Fire Protection District proudly serves communities in southwest St. Louis County and northern Jefferson County, approximately 30 miles southwest of St. Louis, Missouri. Our district covers 64 square miles and includes a unique blend of both urban and rural environments.
We are a full‑service department providing comprehensive Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Suppression, and Rescue operations. Our team of 50 dedicated personnel includes Paramedics, EMTs, Firefighters, Support Team members, and Junior Firefighters, all committed to protecting lives and property. The district maintains an ISO rating of 3, reflecting our strong operational capabilities and readiness.
The area we serve is diverse and complex, presenting both challenges and opportunities. Our response district includes interstate highways, rural back roads with one‑lane bridges, a major amusement park, a rare Midwestern ski resort, and the fifth‑largest Boy Scout camp in the United States. Additionally, we protect 37 miles of rivers, a state medium‑security prison, two major railroad lines, numerous state and county parks, and five golf courses.
Because of this diversity, our crews respond to a wide range of emergencies—from urban incidents and motor vehicle crashes to wilderness rescues and water emergencies. No matter the situation, the Eureka Fire Protection District is prepared to serve with professionalism, skill, and dedication.
