What will be on your ballot on April 8th?

Shall the board of directors of the Eureka Fire Protection District be authorized to levy an additional tax of not more than thirty four cents on the one hundred dollars assessed valuation to provide funds for the support of the district?
Overview of Proposition F
If passed, Proposition F will be a critical investment in the future of the Eureka Fire Protection District (EFPD), ensuring our community continues to receive the highest level of emergency response. As our population grows, so does the demand for fast, effective, and reliable fire and medical services. Prop F will provide essential funding to retain experienced, highly trained firefighters and paramedic, recruit new firefighters/paramedics, invest in state-of-the-art lifesaving equipment, and improve fire stations and infrastructure to meet the increasing needs of our residents. This funding is crucial to maintaining the rapid response times and high-quality service our community depends on.

Who does the Eureka Fire Protection District Serve:

Cost to Residents
-
The average resident will pay approximately $24 per month or $290 per year based on a home with an appraised value of approximately $450,000 - the district average.
-
To calculate the anticipated additional tax on your residence;
-
Multiple your appraised value by .19
-
Divide that number by 100
-
Then multiply that number by .34 (that will be your yearly cost)
-
Divide by 12 to find your monthly cost
-
-
The last time the District approved a tax increase was in 2017 when the District was significantly understaffed. With the passage of this in 2017 we were able to add 10 personnel.
